Contemporary teaching about the Shoah needs to be geared towards the challenges of our time. Digitality, current conflicts, conspiracy theories and the impending
end of contemporary witnesses are just some of them.
The aim of this project is to bring together experienced teachers from France and Austria to discuss these and other challenges in the field of Holocaust education,
to exchange experiences and to develop solutions to these important and urgent issues. Their pedagogical expertise is central to this. In particular, the focus is on methods, materials and
didactic innovations against the backdrop of current social developments.
The cooperation with Convoi77, which is dedicated to the reappraisal of
biographies through international student participation, gives this project a transnational perspective.
By funding this project, Erasmusplus enables a valuable exchange and cooperation between teachers from Austria and France. At several working meetings in Graz and Paris, a common
methodology has been developed on how the Holocaust can be taught in Europe.
